April Lockhart

April Lockhart born 4 July 1995. She started the guitar and piano lessons in the 7th grade, which ignited her interest. The first song she wrote was called Different which she composed at 12 years of age. At 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musicianship ability. Over the next few years, she took writing excursions together with her dad on trips to LA in addition to NY. April also began to include different topics related to some of her friends dealing in the area of bullying by peers and teens who commit suicide through the songs"Take" my Hand. Lockhart also enjoys an increasing popularity as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned clean beauty company Ilia. She was born without a left hand and that makes her unique. It's not the only aspect that makes her unique. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't shy away from her status as disabled and does not make a point of it. What message is it sending? It's this: We all have multiple identities and are way more diverse than we think that we're. It's not my intention to let that define me I don't wish to become a disability influencer where it's the only thing I speak about since there are other things about my life. Lockhart says via video from her residence in Nashville. My daily life isn't dependent on it. I live my normal, everyday life and find my own solutions to issues. However, it's a component of me so I think it's important to talk about. Self-acceptance is a lifelong marathon but Lockhart truly inspires me on that front. She admits that she's been through periods of being uncomfortable with her body, at times, feeling insecure to wear particular types of clothes which showed how much of her body.
